Measuring Your Dog Correctly: The Ultimate Guide to Perfectly Fitting Collars

Method 1: Measuring an existing collar

Do you already have a collar that fits perfectly? Excellent! Here's how to measure it correctly:

1. Fasten the collar at the position where your dog normally wears it.

2. Place a flexible tape measure around the inside of the fastened collar.

3. Important: Please do not lay the collar flat on a table and measure its length – this will distort the result due to the material thickness!

Method 2: Measuring directly on the dog (Recommended)

This is the safest method. Here's how to do it:

1. Place the tape measure around the neck where the collar will sit.

2. The tape measure should be snug, but not constrict the dog.

3. The golden rule: Please do not place a finger between the dog and the tape measure.

Why no finger? We already add the necessary comfort during manufacturing. If you leave space when measuring, the collar will often end up too loose, and the dog could slip out.

Method 3: Measuring for martingale collars & choke chains

Collars that are pulled over the head require an additional measurement: the head circumference.

1. Place the tape measure around the widest part of the head (usually directly above the ears).

2. Be sure to include the ears in the circumference.

3. The collar must later be able to slide over the ears snugly but securely.
